These blood groups might increase the risk of corona virus ?

As Expert says, there is a connection between blood groups and certain conditions and illness.

A recent study from China on corona virus concluded that people with group 'A' blood group may have a higher risk as compare to people with group 'O'.

What are the Recent study Concluded ?

The recent study came out of Wuhan,china where the cases of corona virus firstly discovered.

In this study, scientists looked at the blood types of around 2500 people who had been affected with COVID-19 and compared that with the blood types of the general population in that region.

They found that in the normal population, group A was 31 percent, group B was 24 percent, group AB was 9 percent, and group O was 34 percent.

In those with the virus, group A was 38 percent, group B was 26 percent,  group AB was 10 percent,and group O was 25 percent.

The researchers concluded that “blood group A had a significantly higher risk for COVID-19 compared with non-A blood groups. Whereas blood group O had a significantly lower risk for the infectious disease compared with non-A blood groups.”

But this study still requires full review, but it looks like the methods were generally appropriate. Doctors and scientists are researching on COVID-19.

It’s very compelling and the results are not entirely surprising since we know blood group is very important in other settings and other viruses.
